Head: Power Standards Lab's President Receives Top Industry Award

Each year, Power Quality Magazine recognizes the outstanding contributions 
to the industry of one individual with the Mungenast Award.

The 2001 recipient is Power Standards Lab's President, Alex McEachern. 

According to Power Quality Magazine, "McEachern is widely known in the industry
as a founder of Basic Measuring Instruments (BMI) and director for WPT, the 
parent corporation of Dranetz-BMI, Electrotek Concepts, and Daytronic. He holds 
more than 27 patents that cover such areas as wave-shape detection systems, 
disk storage methods, electric power-produced harmonics, and earthquake-produced 
seismic harmonics."

The Mungenast Award is generally acknowledged to be the top award in the power
quality industry.  The previous recipients include Francois Martzloff of the National
Institute of Standards and Technology and Abe Dranetz, the founder of Dranetz
Technologies.

Power Standards Lab is the leading world-wide supplier of voltage sag generators.
Voltage sag generators are used to intentionally generate poor quality electric
power.  Design engineers then use this disturbed power to test and correct their 
system designs, leading to tougher, more reliable products.
