IEC 61000-4-30 - power quality measurement standard

IEC 61000-4-30 IEC 61000-4-30 defines measurement methods for 50 Hz and 60 Hz power quality instruments. Power Standards Lab was deeply involved in developing this standard, and continues to guide its on-going revisions and updates.

PSL offers a complete test and verification service for this standard.

All instruments that meet the Class A performance requirements of this standard will, when connected to the same signals, will produce the same results. Instruments that meet the Class B performance requirements will produce useful, but not necessarily accurate, results.

Why use 61000-4-30 ?

This standard ensures that different PQ instruments use the same definitions, and measurement techniques, for various power quality parameters: sags/dips, swells, frequency, harmonics, flicker, etc. Older, non-compliant instruments may use their own definitions. As a result, two non-compliant instruments may produce very different readings for the same event.

How can you verify that an instrument complies with 61000-4-30 ?

Power Standards Lab offers a complete third-party set of Compliance Reports and Compliance Certificates. For more information, download PSL 61000-4-30 Test and Certification Service.pdf.
